ANJ, France’s gambling regulator, has issued a practical guide aimed at licensed online gambling operators to better identify, document, and respond to various types of player fraud.
Published on Monday, after a period of consultation with operators and the gaming ombudsman, the guide clarified expectations around compliance with existing anti-fraud and anti-money laundering regulations without introducing new legal obligations.
While the guide does not impose novel legal duties, it effectively tightens the operational framework that operators must observe to manage player fraud in France.

Several operators have announced shop closures over recent months, including Entain and Flutter, citing a rising tax burden.
Online casino games remained the largest segment of the remote market, generating £5.7 billion ($7.6 billion) in GGY, with slots accounting for £4.8 billion ($6.4 billion) of that total.
Remote sports betting generated £2.4 billion ($3.2 billion), led by football at £1.2 billion ($1.6 billion) and horseracing at £769.3 million ($1.03 billion).

But Entain found 11 of the current 20 Premier League clubs still hold sponsorship or advertising arrangements with operators that don’t hold a UK licence, up from the government’s estimate of eight.
The deals include sleeve sponsorships, stadium branding and training kits.
Just last week, Sunderland announced the crypto casino and sports betting platform Shuffle as its new official sleeve partner, in what was described as a “multi-year partnership”.
